CELESTE
Celeste, the second compilation from Safar, is a one of a kind project fusing the concepts of space and time with the music.The result is an eclectic mix of 16 sonic journeys (Safar) that hold a shared idea while at the same time being fluid in genres and time.
The team selected one image from a collection to guide the theme of the project. Each team member contributed 2 samples to a shared pool, which served as the starting point for all tracks. Unlike in previous projects, the team decided to experiment with odd time signatures, which were randomly assigned to team members, with the goal of adding a sense of playfulness and pushing creative boundaries. The team was given a 2-month timeframe to work with the samples from the pool and create the tracks.
